Considering skirts

The magic of the skirt:
Being fat does not limit the variety of your wardrobe! Know that skirts can actually give your lower part a tulip shape. This means that if your thighs are heavy (like mine) they're going to be hidden in the magical fall of the skirt. Skirts look as decent and elegant when worn casually as when worn at your friend's party! So wearing skirts to work is pretty much normal, even for business-women. :)

Knee-long and ankle-long skirts are both equally appreciated. I would antagonize the statement given by Patricia in one of her shows (one or two years back) that ankle-long skirts make you look like a "tea-lady" by saying that it is entirely upto an individual to decide which or both suit them best.

Now, deciding the colors is not a problem! Firstly, it depends on your taste for bright or dark colors. Moreover, its your personality that dares you to wear bold colors or go for more neutral hues.
Then, just go to the store and start trying the skirts on!
Note:It is not a fixed fact whether bright colored skirts will add to the elegance or dark tints. It is again dependent on your shape and personality.

Bet you already know: When you go for printed skirts, nothing will hurt but horizontal designs, including patterns, stripes, sequins et cetera. However, looking good is also a priority, hence not including them in your wardrobe would be sheer cruelty to yourself if they suit you!

And the shoes?
Heels are most recommended with skirts, but when you're going casual, platforms can serve the purpose pretty well. Try not going for sandals with skirts, for it can make you look shorter. Most professional ladies prefer coat-shoes, which is excellent.
Note: Common joint problems (like arthritis) limit foot-wear. In that case, platforms are suitable. If that is a problem too, short and broad heels are quite okay. =)

Lastly, match your skirt up with a shirt of desired length, and step in that office with a new-built confidence!
